Side view
of
upper lip.
Her profile is
really taking shape.
|

Add a roll of
clay
to the bottom lip area just under the last section
you added.
|

Side view of
profile.
Her mouth now
looks more
balanced.
|

Her lips
are
defined a bit more.
Her chin is
slightly
reshaped.
|
|

Side view
shows
how her lips
have developed.
They still need
more work.
|

Now her face
is
being shaped.
It will continue
to change as the
sculpture
progresses. |

It's good to
keep
looking at the
sculpture from
all angles to
make sure it
has symmetry.
|

Her face and
cheeks have been
padded out.
|
|

The extra
padding
has given her
a more
youthful look.
|

The back of
her head has also been
evened out to
give her skull
a nice shape.
|

Here , her
lips
and mouth have
been opened
up a bit.
|

Notice
the
difference that
little line across
her lips made
to her profile.
|
|

After
studying her
for awhile. I decided
her heavy eyelids
also added age.
They have been
lightened up.
|

Her eyes are
not as deep set now, but
still retain a lot of
detail which will
make her easy
to paint
|

If you look
at the
photo above
you can see the
huge difference.
Both looks were
nice, but this one
is more what I was
going for.
|

Mark areas
for
ear placement.
|
|

Tiny
flattened
ovals of clay are
attached to each
side of head.
|

Check to see
that
the placement
is even.
|

Start to add
the detail to
each ear.
|

Be sure they
don't stick out
too far.
