Side view
of
her right ear.
Still very rough
and chunky.
|

Now you can
see
the daintier
shape of the ear.
|

Be sure to
have
the lob join at the
side of the head.
|

She is
getting nice
ear lobs. Care must
be taken not to go
too deep or under
cuts will occur.
|
|

The bottom of
the ear sits
nicely above her
jaw line.
|

Notice how
the
top of the ear is
aligned with her
eye, while the
bottom is aligned
with her mouth.
|

Here is
Melissa!
She is
ready to be
baked!
She should be
carefully checked
at every angle.
|

She has now
been baked
in a low
heat oven
|
|

The clay
looks
duller, less
translucent.
The edges are
harder.
|

I think she
has a
very nice profile.
|

Good lines,
nice jaw, ears, etc.
|

Now, we will
look at her from
all angles to see
if she has a bit
of symmetry.
No one is perfect!
|
|

Keep rotating
the
sculpture as you
look down the top
of her head
|

Now rotate
her
so you are looking
up from under
her chin
|

Keep rotating
her.
Her lips, nose eyes should line up.
|

Rotate still
further.
|
|

Rotate a
little
more to check
her cheeks.
|

Eye placement
and depth are
okay.
Could use a little
work.
|

Ears are
still
a bit rough, but
this sculpture
is too big
for 1/12th scale.
|

A waste mold
will be made.
She will be refined
and shrunken
down to size.
|
