Notes about
supplies:
The paper clips and
knitting needles will be used as "rods" to curl the hair
on.
The needle tool or
rose tool will simply aid in placing glue or hair exactly where
you need it without having your fingers get stuck in the hair .
The oven is used to dry and set the curl in place.
It is heated at a low temp of about 200 - 225 degrees.
The candle or stove top is used to burn off the tiny
"fuzzies" that will occur.
It will give your curls a tight and sleek look and is a necessary step to achieve
a professional, polished look.
You can use any setting
lotion, "leave-in" conditioner, or even fabric softener to help
the curls maintain their shape, but just heat setting it in the oven and letting
it cool completely will also be sufficient.
It depends on how curly you need your doll's hair to be.

For children's hair, I prefer to
use
Paper clips to curl hair on.
Take thin sections of viscose
and wrap them around the paper clips.
Twist the hair as you wrap.
Wet the rods, then blot on a paper
towel.
Put the damp hair rods in a warm
oven, approximately 200 - 225 degrees.
Leave in oven until
dry.
Let cool completely.

Run
hair rods over an open flame either
from a stove or candle.
This will little remove the
fuzzies.
Let cool again, and slide off of the rods.
The photo above shows how nicely
the
hair holds it's curl.
The tiny curls at each end are perfect
for accent curls around the face, etc.
SAVE THEM!
